We are Women United. We fight for the education of every child in Dane County. Our local network of more than 800 individuals is an emerging force, investing in and advocating for quality educational experiences from early childhood through high school. Help us reach more children and set the stage for success in school and in life.
We Ignite Change. Investing in early childhood education leads to improved long-term health outcomes, earnings and educational attainment. Through both programs and policies, we can strengthen the whole educational pipeline from birth through adulthood.
In 2019, we accomplished the following:
Children and their families received home visiting through ParentChild+ and 88% of 4-year-olds are 4K ready, exceeding the national benchmarks for the 4th straight year.
families served through Early Childhood Zones, a public-private partnership providing early childhood development support through home visiting programs, family stability support through housing and employment programs to parents.
elementary, middle and high school students (57%) received 15+ hours of tutoring in reading and math.
