Technical Assistance and Training

The Volunteer Center staff is available to help you strengthen your agency’s volunteer program by offering in-person consultation, new volunteer coordinator training or meeting with staff or volunteers at agencies. Registered agencies are regularly kept apprised of trainings offered by United Way of Dane County on best practices in volunteer management, nonprofit management & leadership, board training and more. We have a library available that has information on trends in volunteerism, volunteer program development, training, supervision, evaluation, recognition and many journals and periodicals on other volunteer programs around the country.

In-Kind Donation

We frequently receive calls from individuals and businesses that have items to donate. Agencies can search for or list needed in-kind donation items on Donation Match through VolunteerYourTime.
