Community Volunteer Awards

Every year, United Way of Dane County partners with diverse volunteers to identify unsung heroes throughout Dane County for the Community Volunteer Awards! Of the possible Awards, one goes to an amazing nonprofit that is mobilizing volunteers to address needs in the community. And a second award goes to an amazing business that is mobilizing its employee volunteers to address needs in the community.

2020 Community Volunteer Awards event postponed

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is changing rapidly and as we learn more about this pandemic, United Way of Dane County is uniting the community to respond to this public health emergency.

Our number one priority is the safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers, agency partners and the communities in which we live and work — especially the families we fight for every day. With this in mind, we are postponing this year’s Community Volunteer Awards luncheon.

We are working to confirm a new date before the end of March. Updated information will be posted here and shared via email. Please contact if you have any questions in the meantime.

The Community Volunteer Awards is a community-led celebration. Nominate individuals and groups who are doing critical, impactful work to make Dane County a better place to live for all. Nominees will be recognized and award recipients will be announced at the Community Volunteer Awards luncheon at The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club.
