The Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP) is a home visiting program for children ages two to four and their parents. PCHP provides twice-weekly home visits for 23 weeks per year for two years. Home visitors, trained as early literacy specialists, observe family interactions and model positive ways for the parents to play, read and interact with their child to build language and emergent literacy skills. The program empowers parents to become their child’s first teacher. Last year, 93% of children completing the Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP) were ready for kindergarten, exceeding the nationally benchmarked standard of success.
