2022-23 Program Investment Applications

In an effort to give our current and future nonprofit partners ample time to plan for the years to come, we’ve adjusted our investment process timeline as follows:

  • Investment applications open at 8:00 am on April 1, 2021
  • Applications are due by 11:59 pm on May 15, 2021
  • United Way volunteers will make investment recommendations in September 2021
  • Provisional funding decisions will be approved and announced by October 15, 2021.

Additionally, we’ve launched a new platform for grant management, moving from ANDAR to e-CImpact.

What’s New?

As we continue to evaluate how to best serve Dane County, we are streamlining our strategies and narrowing in on goals within each of the Agenda for Change areas – Education, Income, Health and 2Gen – so that we may make the greatest impact possible. While we know that we have long been focused on the right needs within our community, our work is meant to be ever-evolving, and you may notice changes in how we make investment decisions as a result.

Centering Equity in All We Do

For over 30 years, United Way of Dane County has taken an intentional approach to naming racial disparity in our community and working to measurably reduce inequity. But we know we have room to improve – and we will not stop fighting for the vision of a Dane County where ALL can succeed in school, work and life.

With that in mind, we’re making an even greater effort to center equity in everything we do so that we may deepen our impact. And this investment cycle, volunteers will consider demographics of board and leadership, how organizations are prioritizing equity in their programs, and how they’re addressing needs of Black, Indigenous and people of color in our community.
