Virtual Reality Experience Raises Money for United Way of Dane County
Madison, WI (August 30, 2017) – Summit Credit Union is finding new and innovative ways to give back to our community. What would otherwise be a standard employee meeting ended with an opportunity for employees to engage in a virtual reality experience!
For a suggested $5 donation to United Way of Dane County, Summit employees put on virtual reality gear and experienced a virtual tour of their new headquarters, which is currently in the design phase. The experience was offered thanks to Summit’s partnership with Strang, Inc., the architectural firm designing the building.
That building will be five stories tall, 152,000 square feet, and situated on 11 acres at the corner of Highway N and Interstate 94 in Cottage Grove. It will house all of Summit’s administration functions, as well as include a branch location. Construction will begin in the fourth quarter of 2017, with a target completion date of March 2019.
“We are excited to partner with Strang, Inc to give Summit Credit Union employees a virtual walk into our future while in reality, contributing to make our community stronger through United Way,” said Kim Sponem, President and CEO of Summit Credit Union.
“United Way is grateful to receive this support from Summit Credit Union,” added United Way of Dane County President and CEO Renee Moe. “This innovative, interactive experience is just one of the examples of how local companies are coming up with new and exciting ways to engage their employees and encourage them to give back.”
The virtual reality experience took place during Summit’s social hour at Promega in Fitchburg from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29th.
