2017 Breakfast with Champions: Toward More Impactful Volunteer Engagement

As an experienced volunteer engagement professional, you have a good grasp of volunteer management fundamentals and are likely following best practices in guiding volunteer involvement in your organization. Now, it’s time to take your skills and your organization’s volunteer strategy to the next level!

This series will re-examine volunteer management through the lens of the Service Enterprise* model that was introduced as part of the national Reimagining Service moment. Together, participants will explore the ten characteristics of Services Enterprise and develop specific, intentional plans t o move their organization toward this highly effective model.

*A Service Enterprise is an organization that fundamentally leverages volunteers and their skills across all levels of the organization to successfully deliver on its social mission. Research conducted by TCC Group and Deloitte demonstrates that nonprofits operating as Service Enterprises outperform peer organizations on all measures of organizational capacity thereby allowing these nonprofits to more effectively address community needs and operate at almost half the median budget. When an organization leverages volunteers and achieves an effective volunteer management model, not only do they lead and manage their organizations better, but they are also significantly more adaptable, sustainable and better resourced to do their work, and therefore able to sustainably go to scale.

For your organization to move towards the Service Enterprise model effectively, we highly encourage your executive director to attend with you!
