Madeline LeopoldThis year marks the 20th anniversary of the United Way of Dane County Foundation, and we thank the many donors who have invested in our endowment through gifts that honor colleagues, remember loved ones, or celebrate milestones. The Foundation exists to support the mission of United Way.  Through gifts to the Foundation, donors can extend their legacy into the future and thereby support our community’s Agenda for Change as it adapts to then-current challenges.

For many donors the best way to support the Foundation may be in their estate plans, by leaving a designation in their will or trust or naming the United Way of Dane County Foundation, Inc. as beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy. For others, establishing a named fund with the Foundation and growing it over the years allows them to pass their family’s culture of philanthropy on to their children. Other donors choose to endow their annual campaign gift to ensure that their giving continues in perpetuity.

As you think about your hopes for our community in the coming year, I invite you to partner with the United Way Foundation to create lasting change.
