Youth Service Programs
Youth Volunteer Corps
The Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) is a group of young people (ages 14-18) who are passionate about volunteerism and making an impact in their community. The YVC will work together to promote youth volunteerism all across Dane County. The group will take a leadership role in planning, organizing and participating in two large service events: the Teen Gift Program in the winter and Global Youth Service Day in the spring.

By Youth For Youth (BYFY)
BYFY is a unique volunteer opportunity for local youth to become leaders in the community. BYFY committee members are Dane County high school students who represent the youth community in identifying critical issues impacting their peers, establishing funding priorities, reviewing proposals, and recommending youth program funding.

By Youth For Youth is a collaborative project sponsored by Oscar Mayer/Kraft Foods, United Way of Dane County, Dane County Youth Commission, and the City of Madison Community Development Division.

Global Youth Service Day
Global Youth Service Day is an annual campaign that celebrates and mobilizes the millions of youth who improve their communities every day. Each year on Global Youth Service Day, millions of children and youth around the world work together with schools, youth organizations, nonprofits, community and faith-based organizations, volunteer and national service programs, government agencies, faith communities, and other individuals to address the world’s most critical issues and change their communities.
This year, Global Youth Service Day is Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22, 2012. Check back later for more information on how to get involved in Dane County or contact Victoria Budynsky at vbudynsky@uwdc.org!
