Volunteer Center

The United Way Volunteer Center is the premiere local resource on volunteerism and volunteer engagement.

The United Way Volunteer Center will match you with volunteer opportunities that fit your interests, skills, availability and location. They are happy to help you over the phone, in person in an interview, or you can look at opportunities in Dane County by going to a collaborative website, www.volunteeryourtime.org.

Education: Students succeed academically and graduate from high school, regardless of race.

 Early Childhood: Children are cared for and have fun as they become prepared for school.

 Housing: There is a decrease in family homelessness.

 Financial Stability and Community Safety: There is a reduction in violence toward individuals and families.

 Independence: Seniors and people with disabilities are able to stay in their homes.

Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

  • Community Action Coalition The CAC needs Dane County Farmer’s Market Food Collectors to ask the vendors to donate their unsold produce as the Farmer’s Market comes to a close from about 11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
  • Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland Council Volunteers needed at the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland Council’s Century Celebration & Camp-In at Alliant Energy, Willow Island on May 5-6! Minimum age to volunteer is 15.
  • United Way 2-1-1 United Way 2-1-1 is looking for volunteers to staff the helpline and provide information and referral service from 8:00am-5:00pm from Monday through Friday. Training starts on Tuesday, April 3 from 1:30-4:30pm.
