Opportunity to Lead

Learn what it means to serve on a board by attending one of our Opportunity to Lead Sessions.  This training is offered twice a year. To learn more contact Kathy Martinson at kathym@uwdc.org.

Board Training

Training is offered to volunteers serving on a board year round.  From learning about governance to fundraising, these trainings offer give a broad range of knowledge to any board member.

Finding Leadership Volunteer Opportunities

To find leadership opportunities please check out the Lead tab on www.VolunteerYourTime.org.  This tab can be found in the upper right hand corner of the website.  Once you click on that tab you can browse the opportunities available by clicking on a category that interests you or using the keyword search.  There you will find available board and committee positions.

Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

  • Family Sexual Abuse Treatment, Inc. is interested in recruiting a Board member with an interest in serving our organization and the community by sharing their skills in accounting and/or financial management.
  • The Urban League of Greater Madison is currently looking for adults ages 18 and older who have the knowledge, ability and time to help our young men and women complete missing assignments and prepare for final exams in their math classes.
  • United Way 2-1-1 is looking for new volunteers to become Information and Referral Specialists. Volunteers staff our telephone lines, answering questions about resources available in the service area.
