Assistant Director of Resource Development

United Way of Dane County engages our community, mobilizes volunteers and strengthens local nonprofits to achieve measurable results and change lives. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, organized, confident, persuasive professional to fill our Assistant Director of Resource Development position. This dynamic and articulate motivator will be responsible for fund raising and relationship and account management, as well as strategy development. The position plays a vital role in the development and implementation of our campaign plan. Successful candidates will have outstanding oral and written communication skills, have the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds including staff and volunteers, and the ability to plan and organize with attention to details. At least 3 years of experience with fundraising, sales, marketing, and/or public relations is needed. Previous experience with meeting facilitation and/or training helpful. Knowledge of computers and database software is essential. Valid driver’s license and automobile required. We offer competitive salary and excellent benefits. Leadership Giving Positions (2)

Seeking dynamic, results-oriented motivators to fill two positions within our fundraising area. Both positions are part of our management team and focus specifically on leadership giving initiatives at United Way.

The Senior Director of Leadership Giving is a supervisory position responsible for leading, planning, implementing and evaluating the leadership giving programs and the staff team that focuses on Tocqueville Society, Key Club and Rosenberry Society so that United Way of Dane County achieves a higher level of its potential with individual donors and grows revenues for the organization’s Agenda for Change. Specific emphasis is on amplifying giving through major gifts and deepening relationships with individual donors.

The Director of Leadership Giving is responsible for prospecting and supporting one of our Tocqueville Leadership Teams. Primary focus is on Tocqueville Workplace strategies and managing relationships with upper level of Key Club donors. Specific emphasis is on deepening relationships with individual donors and broadening support in workplace and community campaigns.

Strong candidates for both positions will have a record of success in developing and implementing effective business relationships; marketing; sales and/or fundraising strategies. The demonstrated ability to create a network of relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, to motivate and educate prospects and donors and secure support, to successfully motivate and inspire staff and volunteers, and superior communications skills are required. Strong ability to research, plan and organize with attention to detail and the ability to understand and utilize available technologies a must. This profile would typically be met by a candidate with a relevant Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in non-profit leadership giving development or equivalent. The Senior Director position will also need supervisory experience. Competitive salary and excellent benefits. Resource Development – Fall Intern

United Way of Dane County is creating measurable results for health and human service issues in Dane County. We are ending family homelessness, ensuring academic achievement among youth, helping seniors remain independent in homes of their choosing, and so much more. We seek a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with an interest in non-profit fundraising who can fill an integral role in our Resource Development department. This is an unpaid position. We are located at 2059 Atwood Avenue on the near east side of Madison on the bus line.
