Register your Nonprofit Agency with United Way Volunteer Center
Registering your non-profit agency with the United Way Volunteer Center is a terrific way to get connected with the community. As one of the goals of the Agenda for Change, United Way helps non-profit agencies be strong partners in achieving measurable results for our community. If you are a non-profit organization that is interested in strengthening and increasing volunteerism, you can register your volunteer opportunities by visiting VolunteerYourTime.org and clicking on Agency Management.
Once you are registered, the United Way Volunteer Center provides several services:
Referring Potential Volunteers
- The United Way Volunteer Center helps individuals and groups explore volunteer opportunities, including youth and family opportunities and volunteer leadership positions on agency boards and committees. By having your volunteer opportunities listed at VolunteerYourTime.org, our volunteers and staff know what positions are available at your agency.
Publicizing Volunteer Needs
- Each week we run ads in the Wisconsin State Journal, The Capital Times, Isthmus, and on WYOU cable Channel 4 that feature volunteer opportunities in agencies registered with the Volunteer Center. The ads serve as a great recruitment tool for on-going opportunities or special events.
Someone Special Volunteer Recognition
- In coordination with WIBA-AM, Awards Mall/Total Awards and Promotions, Brava Magazine, and Econoprint, the Someone Special Volunteer Program gives agencies the opportunity to recognize up to 5 volunteers during the course of a week. One volunteer is highlighted on the radio each day.

Yahoo Groups

Yahoo Groups is moderated by United Way Volunteer Center/2-1-1 staff that approves all posts. Technical Assistance

We also have a library containing information on trends in volunteerism, volunteer program development, training, supervision, evaluation and recognition, in addition to many journals and periodicals on other volunteer programs around the country.
